Hiring: Controller Position

BridgeInvest is seeking a full-time, seasoned professional to join our team as a Controller, who will be responsible for finance, accounting and operations/compliance. The candidate should be an independent self-starter with strong accounting and finance background, ability to multitask and excellent attention to detail. This is a senior, managerial role that will report directly to BridgeInvest CFO/COO. Candidate should have at least 5-7 years of experience working in finance/operations/financial audit for a financial services company, deep understanding of GAAP accounting as well as fund analysis. A majority of the candidate’s time will be spent managing books and records for our funds and various companies, including cash management, AR/AP, invoicing and loan servicing, being the main point of contact with our external tax, audit and fund administrators. Compensation will be competitive and will include a discretionary bonus based on performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monthly financial review and consolidation of BridgeInvest, BridgeInvest Residential and Funds books and records, including cash flow management, bank account reconciliation, invoicing, A/P, A/R, categorizing balance sheet and P&L items in Quickbooks Office Pro Software
  • Complete monthly budgeting and projections for Senior Management and internal review, including Funds LP/GP return projections and roll-forward schedules (including carried interest calculations), deal-by-deal IRR projections and expense projections
  • Develop cash management strategy for cash reserves in various accounts
  • Create and manage monthly mortgage ageing reports (including DSCR sensitivity analyses, loan-to-value, distressed/bad debt projections) for Fund banking relationships
  • Conduct wire transfers, ACH transfers and bank transfers on regular basis for funding deals, paying vendors, investors and customers
  • Work with execution team on consolidating expenses prior to closing deals
  • Open and close bank accounts for new companies and manage company registration
  • Liaise with external CPAs for annual accounting and tax review for BridgeInvest companies and funds (includes 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1042, 1065, K-1 forms)
  • Quarterly Federal/Florida reporting for employees (Forms RT-6, 941, 940, New Hire Forms)
  • Liaise with external fund auditors and manage audit process for BridgeInvest Funds and BridgeInvest Residential, including having regular update meetings/calls and compiling information for PBC list
  • Manage SEC and Florida state registration and audit
  • Monitor electronic documents, AML/KYC onboarding (including FATCA, CRS, W-8 and W-9 forms)
  • Maintain all investor tax and KYC documents, as well as quarterly reports

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of finance, audit, operations experience, preferably with a financial services or real estate company
  • Self-starter attitude with ability to act independently as well as think outside of the box
  • Mastery of Quickbooks Office Pro, Excel, Word
  • Natural leadership ability, poise and professional demeanor
  • Bachelor degree required, preferably with Finance and Accounting focus
